Mt. Baker Research L.L.C. ProductsCERAM Matrix Arrays
We developed these 4-tile matrix arrays for users who prefer CERAM color standards, and we recommend them for use with portable (small aperture) spectrophotometers. We are developing arrays for use with benchtop instruments. The Delrin holder provides a positioning well and label for each standard. (Note: Mouse over the image of a 4-tile matrix array to see the labels.) We ship each array in a non-abrasive optical component bag inside a resealable laboratory-grade polyethylene bag. The surface area of a 4x4-inch CERAM plate is 16.0 in2, while the usable area of our nominal 6x6-inch plates varies from 33.5 - 37.2 in2. To compare the retail costs of our plates vs. CERAM plates, the following factors must be evaluated: (1) Plate size. (2) Currency exchange rate. (3) Cost of shipping from the United Kingdom. When these factors are considered, CERAM plates are 2.5x - 3.0x more expensive than our plates. Because CERAM plates are so expensive, we do not stock them and we offer the CERAM matrix arrays on a special order basis. Subject to availability of the CERAM plates and to scheduling by our suppliers, the normal delivery time for these custom arrays is 6 - 12 weeks following receipt of a purchase order. To produce the color standards used in the CERAM arrays, we order individual plates from Ceram Technology Ltd. To achieve the price quoted below, we process lots of 10 CERAM plates at the same time. Because we do not receive quantity discounts on CERAM plates, we do not discount these arrays. Because we must special order the CERAM plates, the quoted price is subject to changes in the exchange rate and to a minimum order of $2,500.00. Contact us to request a free quote on smaller orders.
