Mt. Baker Research L.L.C. Information

Certified Traceable Calibrations

Mt. Baker Research offers certified traceable calibrations of color standards in 3 optical geometries. We calibrate the new color standards that we produce as well as customer owned color standards. Our certified measurements of translucency are unique in the international marketplace.

We use the following reference quality spectrophotometers:

  1. X-Rite ColorEye 7000A, 360 - 750 x 10 nm, (d/8°) SPIN (specular-included) and (d/8°) SPEX (specular-excluded) geometries. (Note: The wavelength range is 360 - 750 nm, and the pitch is 10 nm.)
  2. HunterLab UltraScan PRO, 360 - 1,050 x 5 nm, (d/8°) SPIN and (d/8°) SPEX geometries. (Note: Available July 1, 2010.)
  3. Konica-Minolta CM-2500c, 360 - 740 x 10 nm, (45°/0°) bi-directional geometry.
  4. HunterLab LabScan XE/VSI, 400 - 700 x 10 nm, (0°/45°) bi-directional geometry. (Note: Available October 1, 2010.)

CERAM Series II tiles plus White & Black
CERAM BCRA Series II Reference color Standards calibrated in the SPIN and SPEX geometries.

Special CERAM Chromatic & Achromatic tiles
Other CERAM Special Series II Reference color Standards calibrated in the SPIN and SPEX geometries.

As a basis for traceability, we maintain 40 reference color standards calibrated recently at NRC, NIST, JAIST, or Avian Technologies. For the (0°/45°) bi-directional geometry our 10 calibrated reference standards span the wavelength range 250 - 850 nm with a pitch of 5 nm. For the (d/8°) SPIN and the (d/8°) SPEX geometries the wavelength range is 360 - 750 x 10 nm. For the (8°/d) SPIN and the (8°/d) SPEX geometries the wavelength range is 360 - 830 x 1 nm.
